Building social presence online

The 2021 Connected Teacher Summit – Remote K-12 was a free, one-day immersive virtual event hosted by Arizona State University (ASU) and sponsored by Pearson. The summit aimed to help K-12 teachers nationwide deliver better online and blended learning experiences. During the event, outstanding educators from across the country shared effective and efficient virtual learning techniques and offered insights on various topics, including pedagogy, course design, equity, wellness, accessibility, assessment, collaboration, and engagement2.

ASU Learning Enterprise and the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College provided an “ASU K12 Remote Teaching Skills Certificate” free of charge for qualifying teachers who attended and completed post-event coursework and verification2. The summit featured 140 sessions across 15 content tracks, allowing attendees to ask direct questions of speakers and receive answers in real time2. It was a valuable resource for educators navigating the challenges of teaching in our evolving educational landscape2.
