Project / Programme Management Course
Exploring the Core Pillars of Digital Transformation
During the course I emphasized on the interconnectedness of people, processes, and technologies—the digital transformation trinity. Through engaging discussions and hands-on activities, we explored methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and iterative life cycles. These frameworks provided actionable insights into how teams can remain adaptive and innovative in complex environments.
A significant portion of the program revolved around emerging technologies and the ever-expanding role of data in driving transformation. Understanding how these tools empower decision-making and facilitate innovation was a recurring theme that resonated throughout the sessions.
Engaging in Project Management and Leadership Dialogues
One of the highlights of the course was the opportunity to present and participate in project management and leadership dialogues. These discussions were both challenging and enriching, as they allowed me to share my insights while learning from the diverse perspectives of my peers. Collaborating in this setting underscored the importance of effective communication, empathy, and leadership in driving successful transformations.
Bringing DevOps into Focus
As the program progressed, I took the chance to emphasize the pivotal role of DevOps—a philosophy that harmonizes development and operations for faster, more reliable results. During my presentation, I highlighted how DevOps aligns seamlessly with the digital transformation trinity. By integrating people, processes, and technologies, it imbues a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
I placed particular focus on the human element—the “people” aspect—stressing that it forms the foundational basis of any transformation effort. Without engaged, empowered, and adaptable individuals, even the most advanced processes and technologies will fail to deliver their full potential. This perspective was met with thoughtful discussions that further reinforced its importance.
Key Takeaways and Moving Forward
This 2-day immersive experience was more than just a learning opportunity; it was a reminder of the power of collaboration and forward-thinking. It left me energized to apply the concepts of Agile, DevOps, and emerging technologies in my own projects. Most importantly, it reaffirmed my belief that digital transformation is, at its heart, a people-driven journey.
I also posted of my experience via LinkedIn, specifically a comment I made to respond to my fellow colleague and AI expert Mr. Syafiq Bakar on the interpretations of photocards. Mine were below:
Photos I selected were (1) a butterfly, and (2) the sky, sea and shore.
1.
The butterfly represents my reference to George Westerman’s (Massachussetts Institute of Technology) analogy of the butterfly for understanding digital transformation, which I often share in all my speaker roles on Digital Transformation.

2.
The sky, sea, and shore photo represents the 3 key constructs of digital transformation, viz. people, process and technology. The 3 constituents are ingredients of earth climate and water life cycles (atmosphere >< hydrosphere >< terrasphere), and like the earth life cycle, that all the 3 ingredients of digital transformation are intersecting with ‘people’ at its core, hence the DevOps life cycle and DevOps methodology.

Hence, the metamorphosis and the life cycle.
Last but certainly not least, I would like to mention the facilitator of the course, Puan Hajar Abdul Hamid
