Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in STEM
OpenUK Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in STEM is a free course offered by the Open University. It provides a toolkit for conducting Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). SoTL involves educators using their disciplinary knowledge to investigate questions about learning and teaching, gathering evidence systematically, submitting findings for peer review, and making the findings public for others to build upon.
The course will help you:
- Conceptualize and design an ethically reasoned SoTL inquiry.
- Conduct a SoTL inquiry.
- Reflect on and critically evaluate a SoTL inquiry for its impact.
- Disseminate the aims, processes, and outcomes of the inquiry.
By completing this course, you’ll earn an Open University digital badge, which demonstrates your interest in the subject and commitment to your career. Additionally, the course is accredited by the CPD Standards Office, providing evidence of continuing professional development.
